3G in Dhorpatan

This year, I've been traveling to a lot of new places for work, and it's been both exciting and challenging. Exploring new locations always brings a sense of adventure, but in the remote areas of this country, it also comes with its own set of difficulties—particularly when it comes to communication. In many rural regions, there’s simply no reliable way to stay connected. Service providers seem to overlook these areas, focusing their expansion efforts in more urban locations.

One of the biggest frustrations while traveling is the inability to stay in touch with friends and family due to the lack of cellular network coverage. Being disconnected can make you feel isolated, especially when you’re used to having instant access to communication. However, there's a certain thrill when, after hours or even days without service, you suddenly realize you have 3G connectivity at your destination. In that moment, your heart leaps with joy, and the world feels a little less distant.

This experience highlights the stark digital divide between urban and rural areas in Nepal. While the cities are well-connected, rural communities are often left behind, making even basic communication a luxury. It's a reminder of the challenges people living in these areas face daily, and how something as simple as a network signal can have such a significant impact on our ability to connect with others. Traveling through these places gives a real sense of appreciation for the conveniences we often take for granted.
