Travelling alone

As I journeyed through the countryside, I found myself counting trees and noting every milestone we passed. The sunset at the horizon was breathtaking, the sight of cattle returning home in large groups was heartwarming, and the vast expanse of water at the Koshi Barrage was simply stunning.

Despite being a good sleeper, I haven’t managed to catch a wink
today. It seems this has been the longest trip I’ve ever taken. According to my GPS, I'm
speeding at 75 kmph but I'm beginning to think that's a mistake. The bus doesn't
feel like it's going that fast.

It all makes sense now why the bus had such a long stop. I
got lost in my music, or perhaps it was a movie. By the time I realized,
everyone had returned to their seats, and I had missed the meal. Suddenly, I
was both hungry and a bit irritated.

They say nights are shorter in summer. Well, tonight is proving that theory wrong. It feels like an eternity has passed since the sun dipped below the horizon.
